| Welcome |
Hello everyone! Well we've had another busy month in the world of Palm Beach Tai Chi. I am so happy with the growth and
progress of our school. As our school continues to grow my to-do list gets bigger
each week. No worries though as I am loving every minute of it. This school truly is a labor of love for me.
My sincere hope is that I am able to add a bit of peace and energy to each of your lives either through these newsletters or by attending
our classes.
Free Yoga Week !!
We're offering free yoga classes starting Tuesday June 16. You can find out more details right after
this welcome section.
Qi Gong
Lately, I have received quite a bit of interest in the art of Qi Gong.
We perform a set of Qi Gong vitality exercises at the beginning of each of our
Tai Chi classes. But this amount of Qi Gong just isn't enough for some of our students. They really have the
desire to learn and experience more. In response to this, I've been working on the curriculum
for a new class devoted to Qi Gong. I'm almost finished with it and it should start within a few weeks. For
those of you who've been asking, the wait is almost over. I'll let you know as soon as the class begins.
New Website Layout
Over the last several weeks I've also been working on a new layout for our website. We have added so much
information over the last several months. The website was getting a bit overloaded with text, links, images, etc.
I've reworked the look so it is easier to navigate, easier to read and overall much easier on the eyes.
When you have a few minutes why don't you visit our new site to see what we've done.

Tai Chi at Palm Partners Recovery Center
And finally I want to send out a special thank you to David McVinney. David has contributed quite a bit
of time and energy to our school over the last several months.
For those that don't know David, he is a high level member of our school.
As a personal student of Master Jeffrey J. Guiffre, David was tested and ranked at the 3rd Higher Level "Spiritual Leader".
He is currently Executive Director of Palm Partners Recover Center.
Palm Partners is an in-house alcohol and drug recovery center.
Last week, I had the privilege of teaching several classes in meditation, Qi Gong and Tai Chi at this facility.
It was a pleasure to share our classes with people in this situation. We've had feedback from many of the clients
at the facility who said they really enjoyed and benefited from the classes. I will be teaching
at the facility again this week and will be expanding this part of our school to reach
other rehabilitation and treatment centers in the future.
That's all for my personal note this month. We have a couple good articles for you below. As always, thanks for taking the time to read this newsletter. I hope to see you at classes soon.

| Acupoint Spotlight |
Before we begin the Tai Chi form we have a Posture of Preparation. The posture of preparation enables us
to get our mind, body and spirit in the proper positions before beginning our practice. Three very important
acupoints included within this posture of preparation are detailed below.
|
Yinling Quan - Spleen 9
"Yin mound spring" is the He Sea or "water point" of the Spleen channel. It is an important point in the movement of water,
body fluids and damp which can otherwise stagnate and become harmful or pathogenic.
The spleen itself is responsible for the transformation of food / liquids into energy and also dominates the muscles.
We use this point in Tai chi to remove any blockages to the channel and to activate the muscle system,
stimulating Spleen Qi on its natural path upwards towards...
Ming Men - Du 4
"Life Gate" also known as Ji Gong ("Palace of Essence") this very important point is said to be our Gate of Vitality
after being born in our tai chi preparation.
It is on the spine between the two kidneys which are the stores of our Essence or
inherited vitality from our parents. Ming men also regulates the Du or Governing channel and locally benefits the
Lumbar spine for example eases low back pains when stimulated.
"The Navel" - Ren 8
Also known as "Spirit Gateway", the navel or umbilicus is the point on the Conceptual channel.
In our preparation it is the Gate of Vitality before being born - and it is of course where the umbilical cord
connects us to our mothers before our birth. The point is important as a rescue point for organ or Qi collapse
or simply when there is a deficiency of energy.

| Quote of the Month |
This month's quote is from spiritual teacher Baba Ram Dass
|
Although it contains one sentence with only a few words it is an extremely powerful passage.

The quieter you become, the more you can hear.
